READING ROOMS AND OPEN ACCESS AREAS ARE ACCESSIBLE AGAIN
FROM SEPTEMBER 1st, 2020 ON.






This applies to the following libraries:

- Main Library
- Social Sciences Specialist Library
- Natural Sciences Faculty Library
- Law Faculty Library (Toskanatrakt & Firmian-Salm-Haus)
- Sport and Movement Sciences Department Library
- UNIPARK Faculty Library

With opening the locations Social Sciences Specialist Library, Natural Sciences Faculty Library, Law Faculty Library, Sport and Movement Sciences Department Library and UNIPARK Faculty Library the possibility of ordering via UBsearch is discontinued. From 01 September 2020, the media can again be taken from the open access areas on site and borrowed at the respective information desks.

  • GENERAL INFORMATION: IMPORTANT: Entry to reading rooms and open access areas (magazine/newspaper reading room and the Katalogsaal in the main university library will remain closed) is only possible with a valid student card/library card.
  • Information for students: your student card also acts as your library card and the registration data (student account) will be automatically entered into the library system on your arrival. An additional application for a library card is not necessary.
  • Information for external library visitors: If you do not yet have a library card, please send a completed and signed application form by e-mail to leihstelle.hb(at)sbg.ac.at. The collection (at the main library loan desk) and use of the library card is only possible after 48 hours (working days, Mon-Fri).

    Applications for two dissertation prizes (worth 2,000 euros each) can be made until the 31st October.
