Research Infrastructure at the University of Salzburg

Be connected - this could be named as the key to the 21st century: A century characterized by new technical developments, transformation processes and internationalization in many areas. This applies, in particular, to research, which in any case is greatly internationally connected. Innovation and technological leaps are often pursued at several European and international locations. Opportunities are only given to those research groups who correspond to the current scientific state of the art both with their research infrastructure as well as know-how.

Since 2011, the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy of Austria has been running a database for large-scale equipment and core facilities at Austrian research facilities. Since 2016, the bmwfw operates a public website on which the University of Salzburg is prominently represented. The public research infrastructure database allows to search for research locations and their infrastructure in the whole of Austria.

The Public Website is also an important milestone for the fulfillment of priority 2b "Optimal use of public investment in research infrastructures" of the European Research Area Roadmap. The national infrastructure database of the BMWFW provides an accurate overview of (large) research infrastructures at universities, non-university research institutes and research-active companies with their own F(&E) infrastructure and is therefore a central point for the positioning of the research location both in Europe and worldwide.

The public research infrastructure database allows to search for research locations and their infrastructure in the whole of Austria.

For us, this means changing to online teaching for the duration of the current semester.
