OeAD Housing Office
International students  may use the services of the Austrian Exchange Service to apply for housing. We recommend reserving a room as soon as possible. This can be done online via the OeAD Internet database. Please note that a € 35 registration fee is required. Please note the registration is possible without uploading an admission/confirmation letter from the University of Salzburg. OeAD Housing will offer you rooms according to the choices made in your application.

In order to book a room, a security deposit  is required. The booking will only be valid after the full amount of the deposit  has been posted into the bank account of the OeAD. Therefore, make sure you send enough funds to cover both the amount of the full deposit and the transaction fee charged by banks.

Rooms and Furnishings
The OeAD Housing Office facilitates student housing possibilities in ten student residences across the City of Salzburg, with each residence having its own categories of accommodation ranging in price from €275.00 to €430.00.

International Students Not Studying within the Framework of a Mobility Programme
These students will need to secure housing for themselves. Options include: a room in a dormitory, a room in a shared apartment or an apartment alone. The Austrian Student Union compiles a list of available accommodations that can be found online. Also, a reminder to check the classified ads of the local papers (e.g., the Salzburger Nachrichten and other media); and don´t forget to check the bulletin boards in the departments around the university campus.

Student Residence Halls in Salzburg
The University of Salzburg does not own any dormitories or guest houses for students to live in during their time here. Therefore, if you want to stay in a student dormitory, you will have to contact the dormitory(ies) directly.
